The Darkness on their Motorheart tour at The Roseland Theatre in Portland on March 17th, 2022.
A crowd doting mass amounts of green gathered at the Roseland Theater on St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate with copious amounts of rock music.
The Dead Deads opened the show, a female fronted rock band is always something to celebrate. But The Dead Deads are more than a woman powered trio, they’re extremely talented and their sound is well refined, while bringing that gravely hard rock production onto the stage and into the crowd. Their performance was a treat to watch as they dominated the theater.
But most in the crowd were here for The Darkness. UK based rock icons traveled across the pond to grace the Roseland with unabashed classic rock. The sounds that rang from the stage were reminiscent of songs I’d listen to in the car with my dad while on long drives. Chaos perfectly in order while orchestrating a well refined performance, The Darkness was a pleasure to witness. What seemed like a step back in time that was halted half way through, this band was a perfect blend of those classic rock notions while also staying perfectly in the present moment.
If you have a chance to see this show in a city near you, I’d highly recommend taking the opportunity to witness The Darkness for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
